Job Description: 

The Financial Planning, Analysis and Compliance Section is seeking an Auditor IV to serve in the Subcontractor Audit and Compliance Office (SACO). This position will report to the Group Supervisor of SACO. As an advocate of the Financial Management Division's Strategic Plan, the Auditor IV will perform and report on a full range of complex subcontract audits in connection with procurement and contracting activities between JPL and its various subcontractors, in accordance with the Government Auditing Standards (GAS). In this position, you will provide audit support, advisory services, and accounting and financial analysis as requested by customers. Job may require up to 30 percent travel. You will be responsible to:

  • Perform highly complex JPL subcontractor audits for multiple functions that cover a variety of areas
  • Execute audits within established business process controls and develop formal written reports to communicate audit results and make recommendations as appropriate
  • Review costs incurred and billed, including final invoices; assess accounting, billing and timekeeping systems and related internal controls to ensure adequacy; evaluate rates and factors; and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Utilize complex risk-based assessment techniques to prioritize subcontracts for audit
  • Utilize highly complex risk-based assessment techniques to determine audit scope


  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 9+ years of related experience
  • Extensive understanding and wide application of advanced principles, theories, and concepts in accounting and auditing
  • Has wide-ranging experience and advanced expertise in one or more related fields of knowledge: Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), OMB Uniform Guidance and Government Auditing Standards (GAS)
  • Proven ability to coordinate, write, edit, and produce a wide range of technical reports on subcontract audits and compliance with applicable regulatory criteria
